Finca Gascon Set
The story of this coffee starts with our trip to Guatemala in 2021. While walking through the square in Antigua, we walked into a new shop called Alegria. In an experience like no other, we tried a pour-over of an anaerobic, bourbon varietal, light-roasted coffee brewed on an origami dripper. If you have tried coffee while visiting central America, you might understand how rare this is. The coffee is almost exclusively dark and brewed on espresso.
After some conversation with the baristas and business owner, they shared that this specific coffee was produced by Felipe Contreras. Felipe’s farm, Finca Gascon, uses experimental fermentation methods to bring about new and interesting flavors. They shared that unfortunately Felipe wasn’t in town that day…however he walked in the doors 10 min later. We shared contact info, and now we are the only roaster in the United States who has the pleasure of offering Finca Gascon.
